On the 12th December 2019, was a big day for Britain; the general election. I did my part and voted, for hopefully a better future for my son. The results aren’t good. And this is going to be my only post about it.
I have never been so ashamed to say I’m from the UK, after seeing the lead up to the voting day. So many lies, and smearing, all of which done by the conservatives, which if this was in a school, it would of been classed as bullying. But it was never reported as this, because its in the media pockets. The fact he could not stand in barely any debates, and face the country, shows how much of a weak man he is. Also characterised by the amount of lies that spew out of Boris Johnson mouth.
The main reason for the vote for conservatives was brexit based. I get that, brexit has been going on for what feels like years and still no deal. However I’d rather it take a while to get a fair, clean deal, while helping the economy. Instead of a half assed, selfish deal, causing the UK to crash. But that’s just my opinion.
On the other hand, it was policy based. A lot of criticism over labour’s manifesto, and how it’ll make things worse etc. These are all policies that are implemented and working well in countries such as Denmark, Switzerland etc… Conservative’s manifesto was a big whole pile of lies.
As a working parent, who does not get any financial help from the government, and is usually extremely fit, as an adult, would really benefit from the NHS. With all the talk of it being sold, stripped down to bare necessaties, pharmaceutical drug prices soaring or it becoming a health insurance kind of deal. Makes me genuinely scared, for mine and my sons future health, should anything bad happen.
Again my opinion, but if the conservatives wanted to treat the UK fairly, equally and with dignity, they would of done in the past 9 years. I’d much rather give another political party a try. At least if they tried and it failed, at least we could say they tried. And not watch the current British government dig a deeper hole.
All in all, ashamed, disappointed and sad. I’ve come to the conclusion, this is just one big social political experiment to see how the country survives the next 4 years, with a clown as prime minister.
Let’s sit back and watch, what a disaster this will be. ~RebeccaKLxo
