A little Serial… 🖤

A Collaboration with Photowall.

As for many of us in the UK, head into a third lockdown. Being stuck inside at home, could be a chance to re-evaluate our home style, maybe even redecorate a little. Could you be looking for a pop of colour, a nature scene, or maybe looking for a statement wall for your children’s bedroom.

Luckily for you, Swedish company photowall have something for everyone. All amazing quality and price too. Plus a speedy delivery, I received my package within a few days. Although I know I ordered a hanging print.

As a horror fan, I took this opportunity to order a horror print. My all time favourite horror film, will always be the Texas chainsaw massacre.

Leather Face 🖤

I had the time of my life when my parcel was delivered. It was big. Almost my big K2SO Star Wars poster (from the cinema) big. I ordered 100cm x 140cm leather face print. On paper I didn’t think this was going to be that big.

Sizing up the job 😆

It came essentially flat packed, but included everything needed to hang it. Even the small detail of a nail. The instructions were clear and concise, certainly easy to follow. I found the most time consuming activity was threading the hanging thread onto the wooden top frame. That was one fiddly job. But it looks so good, I’m beyond happy with it!

Instructions 👍

I hung it in the hallway, to get an idea of it hanging, and the size. I hugely overestimated the size. It is now safely stored ready for when I move into my own place, so I can display it then with pride.

Hallway Hanging… 😅

If you like what you see, I encourage you to see their site link for yourself. And pick yourself up a cheeky little lockdown bargain. It’ll brighten your day!

If this inspires you to do a little injection of updating your home. I would love to see your purchases. Tag me on social media, @rebeccaklxo on Twitter and insta. With hashtag #rebeccaklxoxphotowall

I can’t wait to see your posts. Thank you for supporting and reading this post.

Future Dream Car

Anyone who follows my social media, mainly my twitter and Instagram, would know my dream car is a Ford Mustang.  If your close to me, then you’ll no my strong views between the V8 Mustang and the eco boost one. If your new here, then I’ll elaborate further on that… My view is that if your going to buy an American muscle car, then you buy the V8 ‘proper one’ not the eco boost engine one. Please remember this is just my opinion.

So what’s the best way to spend my free time, then to build my dream car online. I used Ford’s website, and chose my dream car, Mustang to create. Here you can pick from body types, engines, transmissions, to the interior and the colour of paint on the car. It is a fun thing to do to kill some time online.

The mustang I chose: I started off with the fastback body type. I very much preferred this over the convertible.  I also chose the 5 litre, V8 engine, with an automatic gearbox. To me, this seemed the most obvious pick. I feel like an automatic gearbox, would be easier in a 10 speed. I kept the interior classic black.  On this specified one, I changed the colour to magnetic, which costs extra. I’m open to this or just black. I feel like it looks badass in these dark colours. I also decided that I would get climate controlled seats as an optional extra. It’s my dream car why not go all out and get fancy heated seats.  I included the link to my specific one below.

Link to my chosen specified Mustang:  www.ford.co.uk/s/sqNc

If you happen to kill some time by making up your dream cars, I’d love to see them, via Twitter (@RebeccaKLxo) or in the comments.

Essential Night Out Dresses.

As it’s been over a year since I’ve enjoyed a girl night out with my friends, due to the pregnancy journey I embarked on last year. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mother to my son. However I do miss getting all dolled up, to go out the odd night with my friends.  So I thought I’d do a little fashion post, about what I feel the essential dresses needed for a night out.

I feel like every woman should have at least a few of these dresses in their wardrobe for night outs. I’ll be looking at two sites, ASOS and Miss guided. I’ll include their price and links in each section.

  • The Sequin Dress

Every woman needs a little sparkle in her life. Sequins are an effortless way to glam up any outfit.

  • The Little Black Dress

This is must have in every wardrobe. A little black dress is a simple yet sophisticated style.

  • The Lace Dress

Sometimes a girl just likes the soft and comfort that velvet gives off on a dress. It’s also available in many styles from bodycon to skater dress.

  • The Solid Colour Dress

These are often the solid, bold colour dresses, like yellow, cobalt blue, green or pink. They can also come in many different styles. But sometimes a woman just wants to be in one block of colour.

  • The Cut Out Dress

The cut out dress is a sophisticated choice for those that want to show a little body but not too much. A bold but understated look.

  • The Midi Dress

This dress is a sophisticated look, that’s more  for maybe a formal night out. where it’s long but not floor length.

  • The Evening Dress

An evening dress is a more formal choice. I feel like every woman should have a formal dress in their wardrobe, ready for that princess moment.

  • The Playsuit

A playsuit is a cute alternative to a dress for a night out in the summer. These can come in all sorts of lace, embellishments, sequins etc.

  • The Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are also a great alternative for the winter nights. or even the summer if you prefer full leg coverage.

The last two options do have the difficulty of being not very practical in the bathroom, but are super cute alternatives to dresses.  All of the above are perfectly paired with heels. You can find all of the above on many fashion sites. A list I’ve provided below.

-boohoo.com, topshop.co.uk, missguided.co.uk, chichiclothing.com, asos.com, etc…

Every fashion loving woman, should have at least 4 of these essentials in their wardrobe/closet.  Which ones your favourite? Show me via twitter: @RebeccaKLxo

Film Review: Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Getting back into having our weekly movie date nights after having a baby has been hard. It’s surprisingly difficult to leave and also not wanting to leave our son, with anyone; even though we know he’s safe with family members.  But a routine’s starting to form. The film of choice this time was Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri.

It was a movie that had me intrigued since I saw the trailer. I wanted to know if they catch the culprit, how it closes. It’s filled with so much serious topics but strewn together cleverly with some humour. I was not surprised at all the Oscar nominations this film received, because of how well made this film is.

The cast was so well put together, and all should be commended for their roles they portrayed. Frances Mcdormand deserved her Oscar she won. I feel like all the main cast should have an award from their performances too. Woody Harrelson did a great job, with the role he had, and left a lasting impression. I’m also glad the twist Sam Rockwell’s role got to have.

The only negative thing I have to say about this movie was that I hated the ending. Granted they left it open with the possibility of a second film. But it left me wanting more. I hope we find out if they find and what happens. It’s making me edgy not knowing.

I am happy that it’s had a positive response from both critics and activists. I love that it sparked a few activists protests. More details can be found by google.

Amphora Aromatics: Product Review

I’ve had the pleasure of testing out an essential oil product from Amphora Aromatics. I saw this brand at a health and beauty blogger event I attended a few weeks back. After talking with the lovely representative, about my blog, my life as a new first time mum, and interest in essential oils, but never knew where to start. She suggested that I try one from their new range; aromatherapy blends.

After my old diffuser breaking, (I accidentally knocked it off a shelf) I bought a cute oil diffuser from Wilkos; Formerly Wilkinsons. It’s white, with heart shapes cut out of it, a quaint little cube shaped one. I love it. With a plain tea light, I used this blend every night,  after I set my son down for bed. I used it for that nice relaxing, time before I went down to bed. Until the tea light is burnt out.

They’ve launched their newest aromatherapy blend range. This range includes Focus, Revive, Energise and Sleep. There’s something for everyone. These come in the cutest little bottles, packaged in the cutest little boxes.

I had the honour of testing out the Relax blend. After it was matched to me. It perfectly fitted into my lifestyle as a first time mother. I must say it’s really amazing. I will certainly be getting more! I look after my son all day, while his father is at work, which I have to admit is stressful, and doesn’t give me a lot of time to relax. This oil is made up of a blend, formulated to compliment each other well, so no unpleasant scents. Not that I expected this, but sometimes when you mix smells together they don’t work. This product is the complete opposite. The nice smell, is pretty addictive. It certainly does what it says on the tin.

Here’s a link to their online store, so you can check out Amphora Aromatics, for yourself. I recommend them, to fellow essential oils enthusiasts. They also have a range of products to suit everyone, from aromatherapy products, skincare, creams, gels, balms and wipes, to name a few. All made from natural organic ingredients. The quality of their products are high quality and reasonably priced.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard: Film Review

Spent a free afternoon in the cinema, finally watching The Hitman’s Bodyguard. I didn’t really see a trailer for this beforehand. All I knew going into this film, was that it was meant to be one of those miss matched comedy pairing based film. This isn’t a negative thing, but it just doesn’t work for some films.

Although Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds are certainly a acting pair that doesn’t go together. That being said, they did have a good chemistry on screen, throughout the film. A great portrayal of a love hate relationship. However the action sequences are just something else. So well put together. Definitely a high point for the film, along with the storyline. I actually enjoyed. The cast and crew did an amazing job.

I totally would recommend this film. It’s action packed, and provides some good laughs. Let me know via twitter (@RebeccaKLxo) your thoughts about the movie.

Annabelle Creation : Film Review.

As a big horror fan, and seeing so many positive reviews for this movie; I clearly had to watch this. Along with many other reasons including the fact that I’ve seen every movie in the conjuring universe. The trailer for Annabelle Creation set a very high bar of standard in my mind. Making me jump everytime I view it. There’s just something about creepy dolls that freak me out.

Overall it was great. Always made to a high standard. It fitted into The Conjuring universe perfectly. I especially loved the little nod to the demon nun. I won’t explain further, as it’ll be a spoiler in the movie. The cast and crew did an amazing job in creating Annabelle. I really do hope James Wan stay on to produce all the movies in this universe, because I really feel like the franchise wouldn’t be the same without him.

I do recommend that you go see this film, especially if you are a fan of horror films. Let me know what you think via twitter?

Baby Driver: Film Review 📽

I got intrigued by Baby Driver, when I first saw the movie trailer. I must say I was excited with this release date approaching. Where I work had an early showing of Baby Driver, that I really wanted to see. You can imagine how disappointed I was, to find out I was working on that evening. But I must say the wait was worth it, even though avoiding spoilers was a bit of a task and a half.

Every member of the cast and crew did an amazing job on this film. Ansel Elgort was phenomenal. I absolutely loved Jon Hamm in this film. It’s the whole criminal badass look, that really gets to me. So much so, I currently have a cardboard standee of Jon Hamm in the back of my car. I was a little disappointed with Kevin Spacey though, not going to lie. I thought he could of done more as a criminal boss, maybe be a bit more ruthless. The car chases and getaway drives are perfectly timed with an amazingly fitting soundtrack.

Overall, I was really pleased with this film. I will happily watch this film many many more times. It’d definitely a good summer movie. I will recommend watching Baby Driver to all readers! Share with me your opinions via twitter: @RebeccaKLxo.

Adventures in Lincoln.

Bank holiday weekend I spent a few days up in Lincoln with my partner. We used this time as a couples holiday, before we get too distracted by baby talk, planning and spending all our money on our pending arrival. I also just wanted to get a few days outside of Bristol, and relax. We stayed in Ibis Lincoln. Which on paper has 2 stars, saying that it wasn’t that bad of a hotel. The room we stayed in, was simple, chic and sophisticated. Even the bathroom was pretty chic. I have posted a room tour on my youtube channel. I’d recommend them as a budget friendly hotel.

Day One:

On our first day in the city, we explored Lincoln. We started at Lincoln Castle. There was loads of activities here. We started with a medieval wall walk around the castle walls. This had a lot of stunning views, all around the perimeter, including a great viewpoint overlooking Lincoln Cathedral. At this same site, there was also a victorian prison, which we looked around. This was a great learning experience of history.  It had renovated cell blocks, and gives you a brilliant insight into prison life back in the victorian ages. Lincoln castle also houses an original copy of the Magna Carta which was cool to see, and the original Dooms day Book was on exhibit, which they opened a day early. No photographs were allowed to be taken in this exhibit, but it’ll be a great memory. We explored the high street, and got some ice cream near the cathedral as it was such a lovely day.  The afternoon was spent in Odeon, watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Captain Salazar’s Revenge. An installment to the franchise I actually really enjoyed! That evening we had a lovely meal out, at Frankie and Bennys’ because it was right next door to our hotel.

Day Two:

This morning started off early, as we grabbed breakfast at the hotel. This was an unlimited buffet style breakfast, which was adequate for the price. This fueled for the the rest of the day’s adventures. We travelled out to the Yorkshire Wildlife Place. I was mainly drawn to this place, as there was giraffes, and polar bears. It was a great day out and we will certainly be back in the future with our baby. It’s like longleat, but a walk through animal enclosures. There was a few light showers, but overall it was another great sunny day. After spending most our day here, we drove out to Sherwood Forest. Here we learnt more about Robin Hood, and did the Major Oak Trail, which was lovely to do in the nice weather. I also got some lovely pictures from the trail. This evening, we ate out again, at another restaurant/pub next to the hotel, called The Pride of Lincoln. It was a nice casual evening.

Day Three:

We had a bit more of a lie in on our last morning. On this last day we travelled out to Skegness. This was also to visit Natureland, along the waterfront. This is a family funded charity, seal sanctuary. They rescue, rehabilitate and release seals that wash up on the seafront. There was also an aquarium, farm animals, reptiles and alpacas on site which you can feed. We walked along the beach, and high street, before grabbing some lunch at Pizza Hut. This was our last day, so we packed up in the late afternoon, checked out, and drove home.

It was a pretty lovely weekend, and can’t wait to the many more in the future with our baby.  And many more future memories to be made. I did take many photos, all of which are in an album on my personal facebook: facebook.com/rebeccakatielouisex

*I know this post is a month late, I’ve been pretty busy! But I appreciate the reader’s patience.
